where we are friends first
We are a group of people that share a vision for East Kilbride Vineyard Church to be a place where people are loved.
We believe that we’ve been called to be a spirit filled church that is fully present within the community through friendship, love and care, by showing the gospel of Jesus through our actions. Being a community that brings fullness of life to those around us in our every day.
Being friends first is very important for us. We believe that people are more valuable than the function they perform. To do that we try to keep our values at the very core of who we are and in everything we do.

“if you want to reach the lost, get outside the walls of the church. evangelism is at its best when everyday christians take the risk to share their story… as well as his.”

friends first
Here at EK Vineyard Church we always want to be friends first.
We believe Jesus wants us all to be friends first. He prayed for future generations to come - that they would have unity and be one, just as He is one with God (John 17:20-23).
Being friends first means that we value one another as the dearly beloved children of God way before the functions we may perform. Making sure our relationships with each other is a priority and creating a culture of honour as we consider our spiritual brothers and sisters (Matthew 12:48-50, Romans 12:10, Hebrews 13:1).
Putting our friendships first requires us to consider others. Inviting them in to be a part of the team, giving everyone a chance to try, and celebrating with them. God loves it when we give it a go, regardless whether we win or fail (Hebrews 11:6).
Spurring one another in good works, encouraging and building each other was a big part of the new testament church. We believe that this is what’s needed to create a precious bond with the people of God today. Along with humility and kindness (Hebrews 10:24, Romans 12, 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Hebrews 3:13).
